Cortina d'Ampezzo "The Queen of the Dolomites" and its citizens look forward to welcoming the 2010 World Men's Curling Championships and are only too ready to volunteer their time and work to make the World Curling family feel at “home” in the friendly, safe and healthy environment of the valley and to ensure that the Championships be a legendary success. Curling in Cortina d’Ampezzo • cradle of Italian curling : as early as 1907 curling was already being played • centre of curling activities in Italy with : 95% of the Italian curlers who have taken part to the World Championships since 1973 • eight out of ten players at Turin 2006 Winter Olympics The Arena The legendary Olympic Ice Arena is located just off the city centre. It was inaugurated for the 1956 Winter Olympics and has since undergone major changes and renovations to the current state-of-the-art covering. Curling fans and other guests will be able to select the ideal location among a number of differentiated promotional packages. We look forward to hosting you in 2010...
